True to this vision, they have recently secured funding for an important project designed to improve mental health outcomes in the area. To assist in delivery of this project, they require an experienced Mental Health Project Officer to join the team, 35 hours per week for a 12-month period on a casual on-hire basis, ideally commencing in early June 2021.
This role will be responsible for working with the mental health sector in Singleton to research and develop the appropriate tools to enable the community to access appropriate and timely mental health support as required.
We are seeking a superstar communicator who can facilitate collaboration between mental health and referring services to improve service user engagement with current mental health services. The process will involve mapping requirements, identifying training needs for frontline staff and developing a protocol to manage and triage mental health presentations.
To be considered you will ideally have:
- Certificate 4 in Mental Health
- Demonstrated understanding of the mental health landscape and government health services structures
- Highly developed communication and engagement skills and ability to network and collaborate across diverse groups with an outcome focus
- Ability to identify skills gaps and training needs and to coordinate an appropriate response
