Job Description

  • Make a difference to women across the Hunter

  • Part-time 30 hours per week, across 5 days

  • Drive operations and coordination of a local centre

Our client is a well-known not-for-profit community-based organisation operating in the Newcastle & Hunter region for well over 40 years. Their primary focus is to improve the health and wellbeing of women in the Hunter, particularly through a centre located in Mayfield, NSW. The organisation relies heavily on community support and donations, as well as grants in order to operate.

An exciting and rewarding role as the Services Centre Manager for our client has arisen, with the role being responsible for driving the day to day operations and coordination of the centre, its services and its programs. The Services Centre Manager is an integral member of the team who will actively contribute to the groups' values and purpose, as well as implementing the mission, values and philosophy of the organisation in line with the Strategic Plan and objectives.

Day to day, the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing day to day operations of the centre including facilities management, maintaining service levels and other duties as directed

  • People management including mentoring and support, supervising, and performance management of a small team of staff that are primarily counsellors

  • Quality control across all service areas and continual improvement

  • Financial management including control of the annual budget, and assisting with securing funding for the organisation, and business development

  • Developing and maintaining partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders and the community

  • Managing WHS and compliance

  • Reporting back to the Board of Directors

If you're reading this and loving the sound of the role, in order to be successful in your application you will possess:

  • Experience in the community services sector

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar leadership role

  • Tertiary qualifications in Welfare/Community Services or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of clients from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with a disability, low socio-economic status groups and LGBTIQA

  • Demonstrated experience in business development and securing funding/grants

  • Proven ability in administration, planning, data analysis, decision making and stakeholder engagement

  • Current Working with Children's check

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient computer and IT skills

  • An authentic passion for helping women in need and promoting women's health and services

  • An enthusiastic and driven individual who thrives on working confidentially and ethically
