The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be located at the technical operations site at Somersby.
The Financial Controller has stewardship for all aspects of financial management including, but not limited to:
- Management of financials for a group of companies including preparation of financial (Including under IFRS standards), BAS statements, reporting and analytics;
- Ensuring compliance with audit, tax and regulatory matters as well as being responsible for the day-to-day management of accounts functions and the associated cash flow management;
- Budgeting and forecasting including cash flow projects, cost analysis and expense analysis;
- Group treasury function;
- Management of the monthly group consolidation process, including the intercompany reconciliation process and production of parent and subsidiary financial statements;
- Compliance with tax regulation including preparation of tax provisions, tax returns and other related tax compliance work;
- Coordination and management of the external audit processes;
- Working closely with the Finance Director to develop financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans and opportunity forecasting; and
- Collaborating with management to present business cases and analysis findings.
About You
You will be a dynamic accounting professional, seeking their next Financial Controller role or a seasoned financial professional looking for an opportunity to step up to the position of Financial Controller from commercial or chartered financial accounting.
Inquisitive by nature, this role will provide you with the opportunity of exploring how you can make a difference to current financial reporting, and the chance to introduce business improvement initiatives that streamline finance related processes.
The experience required to bring to the position includes:
- 5+ years post qualified experience;
- Previous experience within a similar Financial Controller or senior financial accounting role;
- Up to date knowledge of accounting standards;
- Experience in developing, assessing risk & improving financial governance and control for end-to-end processes;
- Knowledge of Xero is desirable;
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting or business; and
- CA / CPA qualification.
