About the role
As the Roster Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the shift hours for approximately 150 support workers at 4 U Care. With participants’ needs always at the forefront of everything you do you will work across the business to ensure optimal rostering of the team, in line with the organisations established systems and processes.
  
This is a full-time role based in Newcastle. Reporting to the Staffing and Development Manager, you will have one rostering team member as a direct report.
  
This role will require you to work across a set weekly span of hours of either 6am – 2pm or 9am – 5pm and will have an on-call requirement of approximately 2-3 days in every month.
  
Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day-to-day communication with support workers relating to shift requirements, changes and cancellations and all leave requests and changes

  • Onboard all new participants and team members onto the 4 U Care rostering system

  • Review and amendments to rostering to ensure alignment with policy, procedure, and award requirements

  • Development and maintenance of the company vehicle roster

  • Management of the Flowlogic system relating to support work and participant suitability

  • Work cohesively across the business and with operations managers regarding all roster and shift requirements

  • Commitment to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and make recommendations to enhance practices

About you
We are looking for an experienced, people focused and proactive person. Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience managing employee rosters and working with roster management software

  • Sound knowledge of and experience in applying workforce management principles, health and safety, industrial instruments, and roster optimisation

  • Leadership and coaching skills with a track record of remaining people focused and a commitment to the company’s shared values and purpose

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and the desire to always seek optimal outcomes

  • A true problem solver, with the ability to think outside the square and a desire to deliver best results for team members and participants

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role along with proven commitment to process improvement
