About the opportunity:

This position fits within the Integrated Risk Management Team, coordinating and facilitating activities to minimise Council’s exposure to risk by assisting in the implementation of an effective integrated Risk Management system.
The role contributes to an organisational culture of compliance and achieves continuous improvement through implementation of internal controls.
Responsible for the administration of Council’s insurance portfolio and processing of internal and external claims. Additionally, the role supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Plan.

Experience we are seeking:

  • Previous experience and/or relevant qualifications in Insurance or Risk Management

  • Working knowledge of ISO 31000:2009 and its application in the workplace

  • Proven ability to negotiate satisfactory resolution to problems

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret legislation, standards, policy documents and other legal documents relevant to this role

  • Experience researching and compiling material to assist in conduct of legal matters

  • Expert skills in Microsoft Office
