An exciting opportunity exists for a hands-on Management Accountant to join a respected manufacturing business in the Hunter Valley region.
About the opportunity
A well-established and innovative engineering and manufacturing organisation based in the Hunter Valley is seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to join its collaborative finance team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment with a broad variety of responsibilities.
You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial and management reporting while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to drive continuous improvement and support organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare timely and accurate month-end financial and management reports.
Complete account reconciliations and support the delivery of the monthly reporting pack.
Oversee compliance with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.
Provide cost accounting and variance analysis, including inventory management and product profitability reviews.
Assist with cash flow management, treasury, and foreign exchange reporting.
Support budgeting processes and business forecasting activities.
Work closely with operational teams to enhance understanding of financial performance, cost drivers, and pricing strategies.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of ERP and business systems.
Engage with external stakeholders to support audit and taxation requirements.
Champion business process improvements and support the delivery of finance-related projects.
What You’ll Bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
CPA or CA qualified (or working towards).
Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory processes.
Experience with ERP systems (implementation or use).
High-level Microsoft Excel skills and sound analytical capability.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to engage confidently across all levels of the business.
A continuous improvement mindset and a hands-on, proactive approach.
