HBT Australia, part of the global HBT Group, is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their team on a 6-month fixed term contract (March–September 2026). This is a great opportunity to step into a key operational role within a well-established global business supporting the underground mining industry.
Headquartered in Germany and operating across 15 countries worldwide, HBT is a leading manufacturer of high-performance longwall mining equipment and solutions, providing world-class products and support services to mining operations globally.
This role has become available while the current incumbent is on leave and will play an important role supporting international logistics operations during a period of continued growth.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will take ownership of coordinating international shipments across air, sea and land freight, ensuring goods move efficiently while meeting project timelines and regulatory requirements.
You will also assist in managing a backlog created through rapid organisational growth, so the ability to work independently and confidently manage priorities will be key.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end international shipments across air, sea and land freight
Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping carriers and third-party logistics providers
Prepare and review shipping documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and customs declarations
Liaise with customs brokers and regulatory authorities to ensure compliant and timely clearance
Monitor shipments and resolve delays or operational issues
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with international trade regulations
Work closely with internal teams, suppliers and logistics partners to keep projects on schedule
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring practical logistics experience and the ability to operate confidently in a busy operational environment.
You will ideally have:
Experience in freight forwarding or international shipping operations
Strong understanding of customs procedures and international trade regulations
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
A calm, practical and approachable style – able to influence and coordinate stakeholders
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
