About the Role

This is an ideal next step for a senior mechanical design professional with a strong background in hydraulic systems who’s ready to lead. You’ll oversee a team of engineers and QA specialists, take the lead on end-to-end design projects, and drive continuous improvement in both design quality and delivery. This role offers the best of both worlds’ hands on technical work and the chance to guide others in a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of engineers

  • Oversee detailed design and development of hydraulic systems

  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and engineering best practices

  • Resolve complex design challenges with fluid power systems

  • Manage project delivery timelines and outcomes

  • Engage with clients and suppliers on technical solutions

  • Approve and oversee engineering documentation

About You

To be considered, you must have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar mechanical design role

  • A strong track record in fluid power and hydraulic system design

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar

  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams

  • Strong project and time management skills

  • A hands-on, solutions-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail

  • Underground mining exposure is advantageous but not essential
