About the opportunity
  
We are excited to be recruiting a Junior Commercial Lawyer to join MRM Lawyers’ team of dedicated professionals!
  
In this role, you will play an integral part in supporting the firm’s litigation team, working closely with experienced lawyers and partners. You will receive ongoing mentorship and professional development within a collaborative environment, enabling you to further develop your technical skills and deliver outstanding service to clients.
  
Key responsibilities

  • Assist senior lawyers with the preparation of case files, briefs and supporting documentation.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy and commercial advice.

  • Draft correspondence, contracts and other legal documents under supervision.

  • Liaise with external counsel and service providers to ensure matters progress efficiently.

  • Work with a high degree of autonomy under the supervision of the litigation partner.

  • Support day-to-day administrative and practice management tasks, ensuring files are well organised and deadlines are met.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders.

About you
  
To succeed in this role, you will be a motivated and capable legal professional who is eager to contribute positively to the firm’s culture and uphold the professional standards MRM Lawyers are proud to represent. You will also bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-admission experience.

  • Resilience and adaptability in a litigation environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • A proactive approach, with the ability to manage workload and take initiative.

  • Strong organisational and file management skills.

  • Confidence in working with clients and liaising with clerks, counsel and advocates.

  • Proficiency with legal IT systems, including PEXA, LEAP, the Supreme Court website and Microsoft Office.

  • The ability to work independently, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
