A global market leader in the production and supply of industrial solutions is seeking a Financial Reporting & Statutory Accountant to join its team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is based in Newcastle and plays a key part in maintaining the company’s financial integrity and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards. A key aspect of the role involves preparing and lodging statutory returns, including GST, FBT, and Payment Time Reporting, while also supporting the Finance Manager in broader compliance and financial processes.

You will oversee inventory accounting, tracking, valuation, and reconciliation of inventory balances to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards. Additionally, you will manage fixed asset processing, including additions and disposals, and work closely with the engineering team on capital WIP allocations. Revenue recognition adjustments will also form part of your remit, ensuring compliance with IFRS. Collaboration with the global head office will be required on special projects, testing internal controls, and supporting newly introduced systems.

Essential Criteria

  • CA / CPA qualified

  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting (public practice or commercial)

  • Advanced Excel skills and high computer literacy

  • Strong communication skills (written, visual, and verbal)

  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and deadline-driven

  • Professional, confidential, and team-oriented approach

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing industry and inventory management preferable
