About the opportunity
Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant to support the Finance Business Partner. Based at their Newcastle CBD office, you will play a key role as part of a collaborative Finance team. This is a varied position that offers scope across transactional duties, reporting, and process improvement. This role is a permeant position an able to be either full-time or part-time for the right candidate!
What we’re looking for:
An experienced accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on transactional role.
Confident in preparing and lodging BAS and managing other tax-related tasks.
Experienced in completing bank and general ledger reconciliations, financial journals, and credit card acquittals.
Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing payroll and accounts payable prior to payment runs.
Ability to assist in the preparation of monthly reports and annual statutory accounts.
A proactive approach to improving financial controls, supporting audits, and enhancing processes.
Comfortable undertaking ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
Able to work closely with the Finance Business Partner to deliver timely and accurate financial services.
Skilled in building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
A clear communicator, responsive to finance-related queries.
Willing to collaborate across departments on projects as required.
About you
We are looking for an experienced accounting professional with a minimum of one year in a hands-on, transactional accounting role. You’ll be a proactive problem-solver with excellent organisational and communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a genuine drive to improve processes and collaborate with others.
Essential Criteria
A degree in Accounting or Business (or currently working towards one)
A current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
