About the company
Mindaribba Local Aboriginal Land Council plays an important role in supporting Aboriginal communities across the Hunter region through a range of programs and services focused on culture, wellbeing and community connection.
Mindaribba Preschool has been operating for more than 30 years, providing culturally safe and inclusive early childhood education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families in the Maitland community.
About the opportunity
An opportunity is now available for an experienced and passionate Director/Nominated Supervisor to lead the Mindaribba Preschool team.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining educational leadership with operational oversight to ensure the preschool delivers high-quality early childhood education while maintaining compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF).
Working closely with the team and families, this role will support the development of a nurturing and culturally responsive learning environment for children.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the design and delivery of play-based learning programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Supporting and mentoring educators to encourage reflective practice and professional growth.
Ensuring compliance with National Law, Regulations and the National Quality Standard (NQS).
Overseeing day-to-day operations including staffing, reporting and service administration.
Building strong relationships with families and the local community.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a small, dedicated team while making a meaningful contribution to the development and wellbeing of children within the community.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong early childhood knowledge along with leadership capability and a collaborative approach.
You will bring:
An Early Childhood Teaching qualification (or equivalent)
Experience in an early childhood leadership or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and National Regulations
The ability to mentor educators and support team development
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with families

Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities will be highly regarded.
