About the Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Customer Experience professional to join a busy specialist healthcare provider in Newcastle. Working in a close-knit and professional team, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and referring health professionals, ensuring every interaction is handled with care, accuracy and efficiency.
This role operates within a medical call-centre environment, managing a high volume of daily enquiries. You’ll provide administrative support across scheduling, referral management and patient communication - helping the practice deliver outstanding service to its patients and referrers.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Wednesday off)
Duration: 6-month temporary arrangement initially with view to permanency for the right person
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound calls related to patient bookings, enquiries and referrals 
- Process email requests and appointment confirmations 
- Coordinate appointments from referral lists and maintain accurate database records 
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, GPs and specialists 
- Provide general administrative support to the wider team 
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in a medical, allied health or high-volume call centre environment 
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills 
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure 
- Empathetic and professional phone manner 
- Confident using computer systems and managing email correspondence
