About the company
Jenny’s Place is a small, but legendary organisation which provides domestic and family violence and homelessness services to vulnerable people in the Newcastle region. Jenny’s Place is a safe place for all and has helped change the lives of many since 1977.
Based in the office in Newcastle CBD, you will be employed for a period of approximately six (6) months across full time hours as a temporary employee, and be part of a passionate, highly respected team that is working to professionalise and shape the long-term effectiveness of the organisation.
About the role
The Business Support Coordinator works in close partnership with the Chief Executive Officer and Operations Manager to coordinate and lead business support functions that allow for a seamless, smooth operating rhythm across the organisation.
Key duties include:
Provide day to day support to the CEO and Operations Manager, and review priorities in accordance with organisational requirements including contribution to overall organisational plans
Be the first point of contact for Jenny’s Place clients - both via phone and in person
Support in the coordination of activities that the CEO and staff may need to be involved in to support the work of the Events, including preparation of presentations using Powerpoint
Assist in process improvement, accreditation preparation and client data report generation
Maintain effective, professional relationships with external stakeholders, donors, sponsors and third-party fundraisers
Provide administration services to the greater team leader team
About you
The successful candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in a similar role with a passion for working within the community sector
Experience providing high level administrative support to business leaders
Ability to coordinate priorities with a can-do attitude
Cultural competence with genuine empathy
Excellent, current Microsoft Office skills – MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Demonstrated strong time management skills and ability to work unsupervised
Ability to collaborate with others, provide and accept advice and assistance from colleagues to meet common goals
A current police check and WWCC or be willing to obtain.
