1 in 8 Hunter women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, with around 600 new cases diagnosed in the Hunter each year.
Our client, the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) plays an integral part in supporting and providing practical assistance to those undergoing treatment for breast cancer in our local region. All funds raised by the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation stay in the Hunter region, helping patients focus on getting through their treatment for breast cancer and back to living the life they love.
About the opportunity
In this newly created full-time position as Foundation Manager, reporting to the Board of Directors you would be responsible for the day to day management of the Foundation. This is a hands-on position full of potential to grow, with your principle duties including fundraising, event management, marketing (digital), media and public relations. The responsibilities also include overseeing their successful supportive care programs, leading another staff member, and leading and growing their pink army of volunteers. Additionally, you will be required to report back regularly to the board on your progress.
This position will suit a highly experienced, action-oriented Not for Profit professional with a background in either, fundraising, event management, marketing, media or public relations (all or most of these would be great - we can dream!). Preferably, you have an established network in the Newcastle and Hunter regions and can draw on this to deliver outcomes on behalf of HBCF. You will enjoy working with people, building and nurturing relationships, and are passionate about what HBCF does and the people they support. You will be a resourceful, confident personality enjoying the autonomy of such a role.
