About the opportunity

The role of Treasury and Financial Strategist is an exciting, newly created position designed to drive the development of a robust long-term capital funding framework which defines appropriate sources of debt, equity and alternative capital to support business growth and expansion.  The position includes the development of financial and capital strategy, and the proactive management of financial risk.

About you

As an experienced Treasury and Financial Strategist, you will bring to Newcastle Airport demonstrated skills in developing financial and capital funding strategies and an ability to lead financial forecasting and modelling that supports future business plans.  An ability to problem solve and interpret complex financial models into long-term forecasts will come second nature to you.
  
Additional attributes we are seeking in the ideal candidate include:

  • Degree level qualifications in Accounting / Commerce or Business as well as CPA / CA qualifications (or equivalent)

  • Demonstrated experience in finance process improvement and proactive management of financial risk

  • Demonstrated experience in management and execution of capital raising initiatives in $50 million + bracket (debt and / or equity)

  • Substantial knowledge of corporate finance principles, including business valuation methods, project investment evaluation and financial / debt sustainability

  • Advanced knowledge of financial risk management principles and active treasury management e.g. interest rate risk management

  • Demonstrated exposure to developing corporate structure / vehicles to support funding strategy

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing abilities / presentation preparation

  • Project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Infrastructure sector experience (ideally aviation however could be utilities, ports, rail etc) is considered desirable.
