The Company
Based in Beresfield, this is one of the Hunter region’s most unique manufacturing businesses, specialising in recompression chambers, specialist fabricated equipment and technical products used across defence, emergency services, mining, rail, OEM and heavy industry.
The site has genuine local manufacturing capability, producing complex, made-to-order work from its Beresfield facility. Locally operated and backed by JFD Global, the business has seen significant recent investment in equipment, infrastructure and capability, with continued growth planned.
The Role
This is a sales estimating role for someone who enjoys technical detail, customer relationships and business generation. You will prepare estimates and tender responses for highly specialised, made-to-order work, while staying close to customers, building local relationships and helping secure a consistent pipeline for the Beresfield workshop.
You’ll work with production, engineering and leadership to understand scope, costings, lead times and technical requirements, while taking ownership of customer engagement and commercial follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate estimates and tender responses for specialised manufacturing and fabrication work.
Build strong relationships with existing customers and develop new local connections across the Hunter and broader industrial market.
Stay close to customer requirements, upcoming work and future project needs to support a consistent pipeline.
Follow up estimates, tenders and enquiries to help secure work for the Beresfield workshop.
Review drawings, specifications and standards to understand scope, costings, lead times and deliverables.
Work with production, engineering, quality and leadership teams to ensure estimates are practical, commercially sound and aligned with workshop capability.
Represent the business professionally with customers, suppliers and local industry networks.
About You
Experience in technical estimating, sales estimating, technical sales or project estimating.
Background in fabrication, mechanical, welding, engineering, mining services, rail, OEM or heavy manufacturing.
Strong customer relationship skills, with the confidence to follow up, build trust and develop new local connections.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
Commercial awareness, strong attention to detail and practical judgement.
A proactive, down-to-earth approach and willingness to work closely with the workshop.
Exposure to CAD, laser cutting, pressure work, defence, mining or rail would be advantageous.
