Job Description

Due to internal secondment, our client, a high profile, and local employer of choice based in Kooragang Island is seeking a casual on hire Purchasing Assistant to join the team for a 12-month period, 35 hours per week. The purpose of this role is to assist with the management of the purchasing process from purchase requisition to receipt, and to assist in the management and provision of site services.

You will be joining a well-established, experienced team so this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing purchasing experience to grow their career, or for the right candidate with an interest in gaining experience in procurement to kickstart their career!

General day to day duties include:

  • Ensure efficient purchasing and placement of orders

  • Manage Suppliers to ensure that purchased items and services are delivered on time

  • Provide Purchasing advice to requisitioners

  • Identify repeat purchases and progress contract opportunities

  • Receipting of goods and services

  • Assist in Contract Management Support
