About the role

This role is for a part-time payroll officer on a 6-month fixed term contract and will see you working with the team in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

As a Payroll Officer you will be an integral part in ensuring our employees and host employers experience a high level of customer service.As part of the payroll team, you will also be responsible for:

  • Check payroll information (timesheets) submitted online and processing payroll for apprentices and trainees

  • Entering new employees in the payroll system

  • Check and process all aspects of apprentice and trainee payroll including back pays, charges and termination pays

  • Assist with month end procedures such as superannuation and payroll tax

  • Coordinate apprentice change of year systems

About you

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven background in Payroll of up to 100 staff

  • Understanding of different awards and agreements

  • Exposure to large payroll systems, Astute experience is highly desirable but not essential

  • Practical experience in payroll month end processing

  • Be proactive and be able to assist the team as a whole

  • Have good customer service and communication skills
