About the Opportunity
This role is focused on maintaining strong service delivery across the West region, covering a broad regional footprint across areas including the Central West, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Mudgee and surrounding regions. As Operations Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of the full suite of services, combining hands on team leadership with broader operational oversight to drive performance and strengthen client relationships.
You’ll lead through managers and supervisors, with responsibility across safety, quality, contract performance, commercial outcomes and day to day operational consistency. The role will suit someone who can build trust quickly, lead a large frontline workforce and bring practical structure across a busy multi site portfolio. Regular travel across the region will form part of the role, particularly in the early stages as you build relationships with teams and clients, with a focus on creating a practical and sustainable operating rhythm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop managers, supervisors and onsite teams across the West region
- Oversee end to end service delivery, ensuring quality, safety and contract alignment
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, systems and operational performance
- Manage budgets, reporting and commercial outcomes across contracts
- Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Support contract performance, client KPI outcomes and service standards
- Contribute operational input into tenders, retenders and contract reviews
- Identify opportunities to enhance service value and support long term client outcomes
- Plan regional travel effectively to maintain visibility while empowering local managers and supervisors
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching, accountability and team development
- Proven experience leading teams across an operational, service delivery, multi-site or geographically dispersed environment
- Commercial acumen and a solid understanding of contract delivery
- Confident managing safety, quality and operational performance
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder, with the ability to build trust with established teams
- Able to manage travel across a broad regional portfolio in a practical and planned way
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning simple operational systems
- Relevant qualifications in operations, facilities or project management, business or HSE, or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Experience in heavy industry, construction, maintenance, infrastructure or facilities management would be highly regarded
- Current driver’s licence
