Lead the finance team
Operational ‘hands on’ finance role including management accounting and system improvement

The newly created position of Finance Manager will report to the CFO of this mid-size organisation and has been established to lead the finance team, be operationally involved in monthly, quarterly and year end functions across both financial and management accounting, and importantly proactively identify opportunity to improve on current technology and operational processes. The organisation is well established and is enjoying the ongoing growth and demand for their products and services.

As a degree qualified accounting professional with CA or CPA, the purpose of this hands-on role is to provide accurate and timely accounting, analysis and reporting to the management team to allow for a clear picture of business performance. Day to day you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
Preparation and review of monthly P&L and balance sheets for multiple entities including general ledger account reconciliations
Preparation and lodgement of all statutory obligations including BAS, IAS, tax, GST & payroll tax returns
Consolidation of data from various divisions for management reports including commentary and presentation
Collaborate with the operations’ teams to ensure accurate stocktake and stock control to support accurate representation of inventory value
Lead and coach the finance team and assist in creating monthly schedules to allow clarity on task deadlines
Develop controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data
Administration and reconciliation of fixed assets
Identify and implement continual improvement initiatives related to current accounting processes, the use of the finance and business system and reporting.
About you
As a CA/CPA accounting professional, your thirst for being well organized, creating and sticking to a monthly/annual finance schedule is a must for this role. By doing so, the role will provide the opportunity to be proactive in management reporting, analyzing business performance and delving into the finance/business system to find better ways for business processes and execution.
Your naturally inquisitive nature and desire to do things better will go a long way in this well-established, secure business.
A finance background within a large stock/inventory based business is essential as our client has a large volume of SKUs.
The Finance Manager we are seeking will genuinely want to get to know the business, how it functions and operates to then be able to provide value in the way you execute the role of Finance Manager.
