Job Description

Welcome to Newcastle - NSW's best kept secret! Conveniently located just 90 minutes' drive from Sydney, we enjoy a laidback lifestyle with all the comforts you'd find in a big city without the traffic and exorbitant living costs.

It's an exciting time to be a Novocastrian; right at your doorstep you have the choice of fabulous ways to spend your spare time - beaches, lakes and rivers, national parks and fabulous hospitality options that are as good as you will get in the major cities. The city also boasts a rich cultural calendar.

Have you packed your bags yet?!

Are you an experienced Family Lawyer seeking an opportunity to work for a respected Family Law firm with a path for further career growth? You can achieve this by joining expert family law firm, Merridy Elphick Lawyers.

The firm was established in 2014 with a clear purpose of providing a 'humanness' experience for their clients. You won't find the word 'humanness' in the dictionary, so what do we mean? Clients of Merridy Elphick Lawyers experience a genuine connection with all dealings with the firm and feel supported during this challenging time of their lives; they feel like they matter.

Director, Merridy Elphick, has further recently cemented her reputation as one of the leading divorce lawyers in Newcastle by being named in the prestigious Doyle's Guide for the second year in a row.

Reporting directly to Merridy, this challenging and rewarding role will provide the opportunity to work on a range of quality matters and to embark on a career path for further growth and recognition as a highly capable Family Lawyer.

We are seeking an experienced Lawyer who has the maturity and emotional intelligence to connect with a range of clients, as well as:

  • 5+ years of family law experience (with specialist accreditation preferred)
  • Current practising certificate
  • Ability to develop and mentor junior and intermediate Lawyers
  • Motivated, dynamic and career-orientated approach
  • Well-developed problem solving and prioritising skills
  • Professional presentation and superior written and verbal communication skills.

Merridy Elphick Lawyers will provide a remuneration package that rewards your career achievements to date and demonstrates their desire for you to join the team.

We can assure your interest in the role will remain confidential. Enquiries can be made to Ali Kimmorley of peoplefusion on 0421 697428. If you wish to apply for the role click 'Apply' and please include cover letter and CV.
