About the Role
This is a key hire for the business, taking ownership of quotation and estimating while working closely with the Managing Director and production team.
You will be the central point for incoming enquiries, responsible for interpreting technical requirements, preparing accurate estimates, and coordinating with the workshop to ensure jobs are delivered efficiently.
There is a clear pathway for this role to grow over time, stepping into broader responsibilities and leadership as capability develops.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage quotations and estimates across a range of customer enquiries
Interpret technical drawings to support accurate pricing and job scoping
Manage incoming enquiries via phone, email, and counter
Liaise with production and scheduling teams to confirm capacity and delivery
Coordinate job requirements between customers and the workshop
Maintain strong customer relationships and follow through on enquiries
Contribute to improving systems and operational efficiencies
Skills and Experience
Experience in estimating, quotations, or internal sales within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
Ability to read and interpret technical or CAD drawings
Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
Confident communication skills across customers and internal teams
Background in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
Comfortable working in a hands-on environment
Interest in developing into a broader or leadership role over time
