The Role
This newly created Engineering Manager role is a key leadership appointment within Pro-Torque. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead the engineering stream, mentor and develop engineers and technical resources, and provide the technical authority required to support fuel infrastructure and maintenance projects.
You will strengthen engineering governance, improve technical frameworks, support project teams and ensure engineering decisions are practical, compliant and suited to real site conditions. This role will suit someone who has worked in fuel, hazardous areas, regulated infrastructure or high-risk industrial environments and is ready to step into a role with greater influence, ownership and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop engineers and technical staff.
Build capability, confidence and accountability across the engineering function.
Provide technical leadership across fuel infrastructure and maintenance projects.
Strengthen engineering governance, standards, procedures and technical frameworks.
Review, approve and sign off drawings, MDRs, ITPs, QA packs, technical reports and commissioning documentation.
Support engineering risk assessments, Management of Change processes and quality assurance requirements.
Provide engineering input into HSE matters, audits, corrective actions and incident investigations.
Work closely with project managers, operations and site teams to ensure engineering outcomes are practical, buildable and suited to real site conditions.
Provide clear and credible technical advice to clients, internal stakeholders and regulators where required.
Drive continuous improvement across engineering systems, documentation and workflows.
About You
Experience leading, mentoring or providing technical guidance to engineers or technical teams.
Engineering experience across fuel infrastructure, hazardous areas, regulated industrial environments or similar high-risk project settings.
Practical knowledge of tanks, piping, pumps, fuel transfer systems, brownfield projects, maintenance or asset integrity.
Confidence reviewing technical documentation, supporting engineering decisions and working to relevant standards.
Degree qualification in Engineering.
Construction White Card and current driver’s licence.
CPEng status, or working towards it, would be highly regarded.
