About the role
  
This role will take on the responsibility of the development and delivery of the governance and risk management framework. With a focus on best practice, you will support the organisation to achieve strategic and operational objectives through the on-going development, implementation and monitoring of the governance and risk management strategy and key deliverables.
  
This is a full-time role based in Newcastle and reporting to the Managing Director.
  
Key responsibilities include:
  • Development and execution of the governance and risk management framework
  • Review, develop and implement policies, procedures, guidelines, and processes consistent with legislation, policies, and organisational goals
  • Ensure 4 U Care meets all regulatory and legal requirements and standards and make continuous improvement recommendations in line with best practice standards
  • Lead and develop the Governance team (which consists of People & Culture, Finance, IT, Marketing & Communications) and work cohesively with all operational leaders across the business
  • Monitor and make recommendations relating to legislative requirements and industry standards
Key pieces of work in the first six months will include:
  • Performing a gap analysis and providing recommendations regarding appropriate governance, compliance, and risk strategies
  • Development of the organisation’s strategic governance plan, in consultation with business directors
  • Review, development and implementation of key policies and procedures
About you
  
We are looking for an experienced and proactive person. Ideally you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in a governance, risk management or business excellence role
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership/directors on all governance matters
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance requirements with the ability to translate process into excellent service delivery outcomes
  • Track record of leading and nurturing a team to provide best practice services and outcomes
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation to ensure compliance
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven experience in undertaking activities that contribute to meeting the business’s objectives and plans
  • Ability to effectively deal with multiple stakeholders, including regulatory and industry bodies
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills including strong assessment and judgement skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Risk Management, Legal, HR or similar
