Snapshot of the role
As the Case Management Specialist you will provide internal leadership and expert advice to transform casework systems and practice across a region of Central Coast, Newcastle/Hunter Valley and New England. In addition, a key part of the role will also lead the new Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) project under their Federal Settlement program and have a small caseload of approximately 1 day per week.
Reporting to the Manager – Settlement and Communities, day-to-day you will manage the following responsibilities:
Review and enhance case management framework end to end
Design and lead implementation of training in updated case work systems and frameworks
Build capacity and support, providing leadership to empower and upskill staff to deliver high quality case work
Model and mentor case managers, taking a lead role in case conferences as required as well as having as small caseload in Newcastle and Central Coast
Act as a point of escalation on complex casework matters including those involving DFV, child protection, disability, and mental health
Work collaboratively with Senior Managers to ensure effective management of escalated cases, providing debriefing support
Ensure best practice compliance
About you
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Undergraduate Qualification in Social or Behavioural Science (or similar)
Demonstrated five (5) years’ experience managing high complexity case work
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, and colleagues
Experience and knowledge of task centred intervention in a variety of settings e.g. individuals, couples, children, young people, families and groups
Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads and lead case conferences
Demonstrated capacity to analyse, improve and document systems and processes; experience in implementing system changes desirable
Experience in staff training and mentoring
Available to travel between the four regional offices
